Friendly greeting on arrival, comfortable and clean room, quiet, beutifull location. Food reasonably priced, good portion size in a modern decore.

Typical country Hotel, needs a little modernisation. Pool, sauna etc closes at 8pm during weekend, they were cleaning the Jacuzi at 7:45pm so I was unable to use it after a long evening run which was a little disapointing.

  • Group of friends

I thought the location was fantastic, the grounds were beautiful and the room comfortable, both with lovely views. The staff were very friendly.

  • Older travelers

The welcome warm and the service exceptional. The food was outstanding and the ambience of the hotel was just right.

Fiddley low powered shower that was difficult to regulate to the correct temperature.

  • Older travelers

Excellent value for money. Staff very good and well organised. Rooms are spacious, colonial and in keeping with the building. Lovely location and views. Crickhowell is a pretty little town with good local shops and pubs with restaurants to suit all budgets. The spa facilities are excellent, these facilities are unusual in a three star hotel.

The only observation I made was that some areas looked tired and in need of re-decoration, both inside and outside. However, this did not spoil my enjoyment of the Hotel.

Very polite warm welcome, all staff members helpful.

Ideally I would have prefered to have been informed that the pool and spa were not in use at booking; however this did not deter me from enjoying my stay.

  • Single

A comfortable room with a marvellous view from the windows.

The leisure centre was adequate, but the changing accommodation was unacceptable; extremely cramped, no lockers for clothes, etc., and none too clean

Staff made my room available before check-in time to enable me to get ready for a wedding, tis was very much appreciated. They also arranged a taxi for me and when one was not available took the initiative of arranging for me to share with other guests ( whom I did not know) going to the same wedding. Excellent service all round. Room was bright, modern, spacious, clean and extremely comfortable.

Great right from my arrival, through the restaurant service for dinner and breakfast to the check-out. Great views from my room, which was comfortable and relaxing.Parking was easy and access to the hills around equally so. Food quality at dinner was good although green vegetables. Should have been served with the main course as the norm with a principally brown main dish. But I would certainly return in the near furure rather than look at alternatives.

3 sets of doors between the top of the staircase and my room; difficult with travel bag, briefcase and laptop!! But if that's all, I will have to travel lighter next time!

    Room was quiet. Helpful staff.

Breakfast finished at 10am and staff didnt tell I was too late for any!

  • Couple

The wood was so amazing. Worth every penny! The view from the room was stunning.

No spa facilities, only a pool.

  • Older travelers

Wonderful public areas typical of a manor house. Staff were friendly, food was excellent and view from the room was wonderful.

having paid extra for a superior room we were disappointed with the standard and the size. It seems the extra was just for the view (albeit a good one) Decor was tired and needed a refresh, final touches were sloppy. Comfortable but not worth the additional cost

  • Couple

Good restaurant, nice rooms with amazing views. Very nice for stopping over.

  • Family with children

Excellent location...went with family. Saw the caves, kids loved it. about 35min drive. went to the mountains and water falls. Hotel is on main road and v convenient to travel out from. Staff were very friendly and polite. Would recommend it to anyone.

    no air conditioning in room.

  • Couple

The surrounding countryside was spectacular and there are plenty of walks available.

Breakfast was poorly organised with a wait of three quarters of an hour. Shoddy bathroom with hole in door.

  • Older travelers

    Space, Comfort and location.

Television News directed from London. Lack of Welsh connection. Nowhere else in the country would receive London News .
